Some days you plan for months. And then they arrive, and somehow they're bigger than anything you sketched out on a whiteboard. That was May 23rd.
From the moment the gates opened at 2 PM, Downtown Gulfport stopped being a downtown and started being a stage. Engines idling low, paint catching the Gulf Coast sun, and a crowd that kept growing until some zones were packed shoulder to shoulder. By 2pm, it was clear: Octane Car Fest 2026 wasn't just another meet. It was the one people are going to be talking about all year.
Built for the culture, driven by the community — and on May 23rd, the community showed all the way up.
A roll-in like no other
The best part of any show is the roll-in, and this year's was something else. Hundreds of cars filled the zones, everything from Slammed Trucks to Crazy euros and everything in between. Owners spent the morning wiping down panels that were already spotless, because that's the ritual. You don't bring your build to Octane to half-step it.
Walking the rows, you could feel the range of the scene we've been building. shoulder to shoulder No two cars told the same story, and that's exactly the point.

The Kei truck found its home
If there was one moment that brought the whole crowd together, it was the raffle.
That 1993 Honda Acty — the right-hand-drive Kei truck we imported and gave a full transformation — sat at the heart of the event all day, drawing a steady line of people grabbing entries. New paint, refreshed fenders, a complete restoration and detail. It was equal parts head-turner and good cause.
When we finally drew the winner, the energy was unreal. Congratulations to John Gooch — that little truck has a big new chapter ahead, and we couldn't have picked a better home for it.
More than a car show
What makes Octane different is what happens between the cars. The conversations. The first-time builders standing next to people they've watched online. The vendors, the food, the music, the live performance, the Dancing Dragons, the kids checking out the wildest setups. For a few hours, a whole community that usually lives in group chats and comment sections got to stand in the same place and just enjoy it.
Rain or shine, we said — and the Coast delivered a perfect day for it.
